ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.197 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He would submit that 1.5kg of Ganja was seized from A1-Santhi, who is the mother of the petitioner/A3 and she is in custody from 12.12.2024 and this

petitioner/A3 and one Thilagavathi/A2 had said to have been escaped from the scene of crime and the petitioner is ready to produce solvent sureties and to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court, therefore, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

3.Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, stating that the petitioner/A3 is the daughter of A1 from whom recovery has been made and the petitioner had involved in nine previous cases, which fall under Prohibition Act.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police and perused the materials available on record including the FIR.

5.Considering the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) and taking note of the fact that the petitioner/A3 is the daughter of A1 from whom 1.5kg of Ganja was seized and the petitioner had involved in nine previous cases, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
