Prayer:

Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents in particularly the 3rd 4th respondents as already decided by the 4th respondent with recommendation of the 5th and 3rd respondent in the change of name board in the Govt. Primary School in "Palamedu North" instead of "Harijan Colony" as already decided by 4th respondent and asking to send the additional information from the 3rd respondent vide Lr.No.O.M.No.10544/E4/2021 dated 10.11.2021.

Heard Mr.Tamil Priyan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

2. The petitioner prays for a Mandamus, directing the respondents, particularly R-3 and R-4 being the Chief Educational officer and District Educational Officer respectively, to consider the recommendation of the 3rd and 5th respondents i.e., the Head Master of the Government Primary School, to amend the name of School to 'Government Primary School, Palamedu North' instead of 'Government Primary School, Harijan Colony'.

3. Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate for the respondents, draws my attention to Communication bearing O.M.No.10544/E4/2021 dated 10.11.2021, wherein, R-3 has sought a report from R-4 in regard to the request of the petitioner for change of name. He states that the report is expected in two weeks and a direction is thus issued to R-4 to issue the stated report within two weeks from today, upon receipt of which R-3 shall forwarded the same to R-1, being the Director of Elementary Education, who shall hear the petitioner, after supply of a copy of report to him, and pass orders in accordance with law and all applicable rules, regulations and orders.

4. Let the entirety of this exercise shall be carried out within eight weeks from today.

5. With this, this Writ Petition stands disposed. No costs.
