Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the fourth respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 04.02.2018 and 03.03.2018 submitted by the petitioners for settling his service benefits as ordered in G.O.(ID) No.557 Rural Welfare (E-7) Department dated 25.6.2004 within a reasonable time.

The petitioner was working as Junior Assistant in the fourth respondent Panchayat. He appeared for departmental tests and passed four out of five tests. The petitioner submitted an application for relaxing Rule 48 of the General Rules. Accordingly, the first respondent by G.O.No.557 dated 25.06.2004, declared the completion of probation of the petitioner and granted relaxation from passing Panchayat Development Accounts Test. that the said G.O.No.557 dated 25.06.2004 has not been implemented even after the retirement of the petitioner on 30.06.2004. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner sent representations dated 04.02.2018 and 03.03.2018 to the fourth respondent requesting to pay the service benefits to him as per the G.O.dated 25.06.2004. The said representations are not considered till date and hence the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking appropriate relief.
2. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representions of the petitioner dated 04.02.2018 and 03.03.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
