Respondent Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act to punish the respondents for the wilful disobedience of the interim order of this Court dated 17.05.2017 in WMP.No.13754 of 2017 in WP.No.12890 of 2017.

ORDER

Challenging the order of the respondent dated 14.05.2017, reducing the intake in Under Graduate level of

Architecture by 50% and placing the Post Graduate Degree Course under the 'no admission' category on the ground that 'the compliance report has not been submitted', the petitioner has filed a writ petition in W.P.No.12890 of 2017. Along with that writ petition, the petitioner has filed a Miscellaneous Petition in WMP.No.13754 of 2017 seeking an order of interim stay of all further proceedings pursuant to the order dated 14.05.2017.

2.When the matter came up for admission on 17.05.2017, this Court granted an order of interim stay.

3.Alleging that the aforesaid interim order has been violated by the respondent, the present Contempt Petition came to be filed.

4.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned standing counsel for the respondent produced a copy of the communication dated 15.05.2017 sent by Anna University, wherein, it has been informed that the petitioner was granted provisional affiliation for the continuation of the under graduate and post graduate courses for the academic year 2017-18 with the intake already sanctioned for the year 2016-17, subject to the fulfilment of the certain conditions as mentioned therein.

The said fact was accepted by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5.This Court is of the view that in the light of the aforesaid communication, it is unnecessary to pursue this contempt petition. Hence, recording the same, the contempt petition stands closed.
