This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay them the amount payable towards the encashment of earned leaves, surrendered by them along with 18% interest p.a. within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioners made representations dated 18.10.2021 and 03.01.2022 before the respondents/transport corporation seeking the encashment of earned leave, surrendered by them along with interest at the rate of 18% p.a. According to the writ petitioners, the petitioners are entitled for the aforesaid earned leave encashment. But so far, the same has not been settled by the respondents. Hence, they filed the present writ petition before this Court.
3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the respondents will consider the representations of the petitioners, if otherwise eligible. The respondents will make necessary orders for sanctioning the aforesaid amount.
4. Recording the aforesaid statement of the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 18.10.2021 and 03.01.2022 and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
