Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the entire records relating to the impugned order passed by the respondent in his proceedings Lr.No.CMWSSB/Depot 122/Spl/2018, dated 05.02.2018 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondent to restore the water supply service connection to the petitioner's flat situated at Flat bearing No.5 in the second floor of the premises bearing Door No,2, 3rd Main Road, Seethamma Colony, Old No.162,TTK Road, Alwarpet, Chennai -18.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed Challenging the order of disconnection of water connection to the petitioner's flat. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a widow and she is staying alone in her flat and there is absolutely no need for her to illegally take water from the main pipe line. The water supplied by the respondent come to the petitioner's sump and only from the sump, the petitioner takes the water to the over head tank.

4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the officials of the respondent having found that the petitioner has illegally drawn water from the main pipe line by using an Electric motor and disconnected the water connection. It is further submitted that if the petitioner approaches the respondent and deposits the required amount, the respondent is ready to reconnect the water connection to the petitioner's house.

5. In reply, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready to deposit the amount demanded by the respondent.

6. In the light of the above submissions, the respondent is directed to provide water connection to the petitioner forthwith, on payment of the amount by the petitioner.

7. With above observations and directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
