Mr.Vadivelu Deenadayalan Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER These Writ Petitions have been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to sanction and pay the arrears of monetary benefits payable to the petitioners under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), by considering their representation dated 25.08.2025.

__________Page 9 of 12

3. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners were appointed as Assistant Professors, at Pay Level 10 in various Departments in Erode Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Erode. It is the grievance of the petitioners that the faculty members employed in Aided Colleges are entitled to CAS promotions, along with arrears from the date of eligibility. In this regard, relevant Government Orders and proceedings were issued by the respondents 2 and 3. Despite the same, the petitioners have not been granted the benefit of upgradation of pay from Level 10 to 11, nor have they been paid the consequential monetary arrears payable under CAS. Therefore, the petitioners made a representation dated 25.08.2025 before the respondents, seeking upgradation of their pay level and payment of arrears. However, the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioners have preferred the present Writ Petitions.

4. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners submit that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 25.08.2025 and, consequently, to upgrade the pay from Level 10 to Level 11 and to pay the arrears thereof, by passing appropriate orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

__________Page 10 of 12

5. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

6. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioners, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 25.08.2025 on merits and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and any other interested parties.

7. These Writ Petitions stand disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
