Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records in connection with the issue of demand of Rs.1,53,763/- towards arrears of electricity consumption charges for the premises at MF-7, 2nd Floor, CIPET Hostel Road, Thiru-viKa Industrial Estate Ekkattuthangal, Chennai 600 32 as per the notice pasted on the website in April 2012 and quash the same as illegal and void and consequently direct the respondent to refund the amount if already collected with interest at the rate of 18% p.a.

The petitioner has come forward with the instant writ petition challenging the demand notice made by the respondent.

2. Heard Mr.Paul & Paul, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned counsel appearing for the respondent would state that the petitioner is having an alternative remedy to approach the forum for redressal of grievances of the consumers.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the petitioner to approach the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, within a period of four weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
