Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the 4th respondent to remove the encroachment made by respondent No. 5 in the Government Land/Road comprising in New Survey Number 304/8 (Old Survey Number 118/B1 part) situated at S. Malayandipatnam Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District within time bound manner in view of notice dated 23.06.2022issued under section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.K.Myilsamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 4.

2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 was issued to the encroachers, but no further action was taken.

3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that within a period of two months, further steps would be undertaken for removal of the encroachers.

4. In view of the said statement, we are not required to pass any orders in the present petition. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 22.01.2024 Index :
