ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2025 and consequently issue directions to the respondent to fulfill the vacancies in the respondent port authority.
2.Mr.R.Karthikeyan, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that the members of the petitioner union, after having successfully completed their apprenticeship in the Mechanical Section of the respondent Port Trust in accordance with the prescribed and mandated guidelines, have not been appointed till date, despite 227 vacancies are presently available in the mechanical post. Therefore, the petitioner union submitted a representation dated 24.11.2025 to the respondent seeking appointment for its members to the said mechanical posts. However, the said representation has not been considered till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court, issues a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
5. On the above contention, this Court, heard the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.
6. In view of the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of eight
(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
