Criminal Original petition filed under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondent authority to give police protection and permission to conduct cultural programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Kurvarettiyur Arulmigu Sree Arulnirai Kakkuvai Mariamman Temple Pongal Festival at Anthiyur Taluk, Erode District on 17.01.2020 between 6.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.01.2020.

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent authority to give police protection and permission to conduct cultural programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Kurvarettiyur Arulmigu Sree Arulnirai Kakkuvai Mariamman Temple Pongal Festival at Anthiyur Taluk, Erode District on 17.01.2020 between 6.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.01.2020.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that since the petition itself was filed only on 09.01.2020, he could not get instructions from the respondent police and therefore he requested to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and also to conduct enquiry with regard to the petitioner's representation and also with the petition, rival group if any and pass an order in accordance with law.

3. Considering the aforesaid submissions, the respondent is directed to conduct enquiry with regard to the petitioner's representation dated 09.01.2020 with the petitioner and also with the rival group if any and pass an order in accordance with law and inform the result to the parties on or before 15.01.2020.

4. With the aforesaid directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
