By consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner has filed this writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider his representation dated 07.03.2016, wherein he has claimed enhanced compensation for his lands, which are acquired under the Tamilnadu Highways Act, 2001.

3. The petitioner is not satisfied with the amount of compensation, which has been determined and therefore, he has made representation to the 1st respondent seeking enhancement. Since, the said representation is pending, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader, accepting notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions submitted that reasonable time may be given to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law.

5. In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, there will be a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
