2. The District collector Thiruvanamalai collectorate vengikkal Thiruvannamalai-606 604

4. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar.

(the fourth respondent is impleaded suo motu by this Court vide order dated 28.01.2026 in this writ petition) ..Respondent(s) directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to consider the representation dated 22.9.2025 sent by the petitioner and to issue suitable directions for the correction of the revenue records.

For Petitioner(s):

Ms.Jeevitha.P For Respondent(s):

Mr.D.Ravichander, Special Government Pleader for R1,2 and 4 Order This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 seeking for correction of the revenue records for the property, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2.Admittedly, patta has already been issued for the subject property in favour of the third respondent's father. The petitioner indirectly seeks for cancellation of the same though in the prayer the petitioner only seeks for correction of the revenue records.

3.Necessarily, the petitioner will have to submit a fresh representation seeking for cancellation of patta to the competent authority. The competent authority, insofar as the request for cancellation of patta is concerned, is the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar.

4.Learned counsel for the petitioner on instructions would submit that the petitioner is willing to give a fresh representation to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar.

5.Since the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar has not been arrayed as a party respondent in this writ petition, this Court suo motu impleads the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar as the party fourth respondent in this writ petition. Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendment. 6.Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1, 2 and 4.

7.No prejudice would be caused to the official respondents if the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation to the newly impleaded fourth respondent, i.e. the Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar seeking for cancellation of patta for the subject property standing in the name of the third respondent and a direction is issued to the newly impleaded fourth respondent i.e. Revenue Divisional Officer, Cheyyar to consider the said representation, on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the objections of the third respondent and any other third party whom the fourth respondent deems it fit to enquire and pass final orders, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

8.This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation. Since no adverse order is being passed against the third respondent, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with. 9.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the newly impleaded fourth respondent seeking for cancellation of patta for the subject property standing in the name of the third respondent's father, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said representation within the stipulated time, the newly impleaded fourth respondent shall pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law on the said representation, after hearing the objections of the third respondent and any other third party whom the fourth respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a period of 12 weeks thereafter. No costs.
