Prayer: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direction to the first respondent to dispose of the (i) Second Appeal bearing No. SA.829/SCIC/2024, (ii) Second Appeal bearing No. SA.830/SCIC/2024 and (iii) Second Appeal bearing No. SA.18645/SCIC/2022 respectively which is pending before the first respondent, within a time frame fixed by this Court. Side) for RR 2 and 3 COMMON ORDER The petitioner in all the three Writ Petitions is the appellant before the Tamil Nadu State Information Commission in the following Appeals: (i) SA No.829/SCIC/2024 (ii) SA No.830/SCIC/2024 and (iii) SA No.18645/SCIC/2022 2/8
2. The grievance of the petitioner is that post the preliminary direction given by the State Information Commission, the Public Information Officer has given certain information, which is unsatisfactory. According to him, the information furnished by the 3rd respondent does not satisfy the queries posed by him. Being a senior citizen, he is before this Court seeking for expeditious disposal of the aforesaid Appeals.
3. When the matter came up for admission, Mr.C.Vigneshwaran, Standing Counsel for the first respondent took notice. He drew the attention of this Court to two circulars issued by the Tamil Nadu Information Commission on 02.02.2018 and 11.08.2025 respectively. 4. He states that the Chief Information Commissioner has directed the Registry of the Commission to ensure that in case a petitioner/appellant before the State Information Commission is a senior citizen, such cases should be given priority and the matter is to be disposed of preferably within a period of 8 weeks.
5. Mr.C.Vigneswaran states that applying the aforesaid circular issued pursuant to the directions of the Chief Information Commissioner, the three Appeals with which we are concerned in this petition, would be given priority listing and disposed of before the second week of April 2026.
6. The statement made by the Standing Counsel is recorded. The Information Commission shall dispose of the Appeals before the second week of April 2026. This direction is given on account of the fact that the petitioner is a senior citizen and would be covered by Circular No.6 dated 02.02.2018.

7. The Writ Petitions are disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
