[Order of this Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.] By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.
2. The petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant 1/3
permission and police protection to conduct "Cock Fight" by considering his representation dated 11.01.2020.
3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted representations dated 28.12.2019 and 11.01.2020 to the respondents, seeking permission and police protection to conduct "Cock fight" in the event of Pongal Festival at Vadukattu, Nerisalpettai, Erode, in favour of Venkatesan Reddy, scheduled to be held from 16.01.2020 to 19.01.2020 between 10.00a.m. to 5.00p.m. Since no orders have been passed on the said representations, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.
4. Mr.W.Camyles Gandhi, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if his representation is directed to be considered and appropriate orders are passed as expeditiously as possible.
5. Mr.K.S.Suresh, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 has got no serious objection for directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.
6. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.01.2020 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four days from today. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
7. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
