Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to permit the petitioner to participate in the B.Arch counselling to be conducted by the second respondent for the academic year 2018-2019 in pursuant to the application No.501306.

For Petitioner : Mr.N.Murali Kumaran for M/s.Mc.Gan Law Firm For Respondents : Mr.M. Vijayakumar standing counsel

O R D E R

Heard Mr.N.Murali Kumaran, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Vijaykumar, the learned standing counsel for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

2.

The Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of mandamus directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to participate in the B.Arch counselling to be conducted by the second respondent for the academic year 2018-2019, pursuant to her application No.501306.

3.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondents have not intimated the date of certificate verification through e-mail and hence, she could not participate in the original certificate verification held on 26.07.2018.

4.

It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner that as per the prospectus isused by the second respondent, the date of verification of the original documents shall be intimated to the applicants through e-mail and SMS. Though an SMS was sent to the petitioner, but she was not intimated through e-mail. It is next submitted that the petitioner's cut off mark is 313.25 and the first slot of counselling for the students upto cut off marks of 290 would be held on 10.08.2018 and if the petitioner is not permitted to participate in the Counselling, she will lose her opportunity of pursuing her studies in the academic year 2018-19.

5. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would submit that the date of verification of the documents was admittedly communiated through SMS and was genearted in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Portal, but the petitioner instead of availing the opportunity, has filed this Writ Petition.

6. However, considering the facts and the submissions of the learned counsels and in order to meet the ends of justice, the respondents are directed to permit the petitioner to participate in the Counselling to be held on 10.08.2018 and allot her seat as per the cut off mark, subject to the verification of the original documents.

7.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
