(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.12.2024. 2.Petitioner wants to have the permission of the Town Vending Committee of the respondent Corporation to have street vending at Ward No.130, Amman Koil Street, Vadapalani, Chennai - 26, just in front of the Corporation Middle School. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation on 30.12.2024 and in order to consider the same seeking a Mandamus, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents.

4.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the respondent corporation that Ward No.130, Amman Koil Street, Vadapalani, Chennai - 26, has already been declared to be a non vending zone. That apart, the place in which the petitioner wants to have street vending business is just in front of the Corporation Middle School. Therefore, as per the norms, within 100 meters 2/4

from the Educational Institutions, no street vending is permitted. Hence, the plea raised by the petitioner through his representation cannot be considered. 5.Recording the said submissions, since the writ petition is liable to be dismissed, it is accordingly dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioner to identify any suitable alternative place in a vending zone and make an application to the respondent Corporation and in that case, the same can be considered by the respondent Corporation in accordance with law and decide the same on merits at the earliest.
