Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to sanction the compensation amount of Rs.10 Lakhs announced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) to the petitioner on account of the death of his daughter, Mitherna, during the Gaja Cyclone on 16.11.2018 at Paravakottai, Mannargudi Taluk, Tiruvarur District.

Mr.R.Govindasamy Special Government Pleader O R D E R The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus to direct the respondents to sanction the compensation amount of Rs.10 Lakhs announced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) to the petitioner on account of the death of his daughter, Mitherna, during the Gaja Cyclone on 16.11.2018 at Paravakottai, Mannargudi Taluk, Tiruvarur District.

2. It is claimed by the petitioner that his daughter by name, Mitherna, aged about 2 1⁄2 years lost her life on 16.11.2018 resulting out of the disaster caused by Gaja cyclone. Therefore, the petitioner seeks for monetary relief from the State Government under the Chief Minister Public Relief Fund. Ventilating such grievance, the petitioner made a representation to the 5th respondent on 20.12.2018. It is seen that the said representation has not been considered so far.

3. Needless to say that the said representation cannot be kept pending for a long time without considering the grievance of the petitioner. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 5th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2018 and pass appropriate orders on the same, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after conducting due enquiry and also by giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. No costs.
