ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to quash the final report in unnumbered CC.No. of 2026 in FR.No.256 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Ambattur and to consequently, direct the respondent to transfer the investigation and re-investigate the case in Crime No.222 of 2025 on the file of the respondent-police.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner/de facto complainant, an FIR in Crime No.222 of 2025 came to be registered on the file of the respondent-police for the offences under Sections 126(2), 296(b), 118(1) and 351(3) of BNS and after completion of investigation, the final report was filed before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Ambattur for the abovesaid offences and the same was taken on file in C.C.No.652 of 2025.

3. Now that the investigation has been completed and the final report has been filed and the case has been taken up in C.C.No.652 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Ambattur, the prayer of the petitioner 2/4

seeking transfer of investigation and re-investigation cannot be acceded to. However, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the final report in the manner known to law, if he is aggrieved and if he is so advised.

4. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 17.02.2026 skt NCC : Yes/No To:
