PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4th respondent to provide police protection for survey by the respondents 1 and 2 in respect of the petitioner's property in S.No.266/3, to an extent of 1.22 Acres, situated at Mallikundam Village, Mettur Taluk, Salem District based on the petitioner's application dated 20.11.2023 and 18.12.2023 respectively.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 4th respondent to provide police protection for survey by the respondents 1 and 2 in respect of the petitioner's property in S.No.266/3, to an extent of 1.22 Acres, situated at Mallikundam Village, Mettur Taluk, Salem District based on the petitioner's application dated 20.11.2023 and 18.12.2023 respectively.

2. Heard Mr.M.R.Jothimanian, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 4.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents 1 to 4 submitted that on the representation of the petitioner, no current paper or CSR has been assigned till date and a decision will be taken on the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2023 at the earliest.

4. In view of the submission made by learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is disposed of directing the respondents 1 to 4 to take a decision on the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2023 within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
