The petitioner/A15 seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.416 of 2022 registered by the respondent Police for the offences punishable under Sections 272, 273, 328 of IPC and Sections 8(c), r/w 20(b)(ii)(C) and 25 of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

2. It is the case of the prosecution that they have recovered totally 20.500 kgs of Ganja, which is commercial quantity.

3. It is stated that on completion of investigation, final report had been filed before the Special Court for EC and NDPS Act cases, Coimbatore categorising the petitioner as absconding accused. Naturally, the petitioner will have to surrender before the particular Court. Therefore, anticipatory bail application would not lie.

4. Taking all those factors into consideration, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
