Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India, to issue a writ of certiorari calling for the records of the Respondent in proceedings Reference No.C1-10/ 21851/ 2018 dated 2.4.2018 wherein the Respondent illegally and arbitrarily reduces the Rank of the petitioner from Special Officer Grade-I to Assistant Section Officer and quash the same.

J U D G M E N T

[Judgment of the Court was delivered by K.K.SASIDHARAN,J.] When the appeal is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the Annamalai University by producing a copy of the common affidavit dated 27 June 2018 filed in W.P.No.9609 of 2018 etc., batch submitted that the University has taken a decision to withdraw the notices issued to various employees who have filed writ petitions before the High Court. The learned counsel submitted that the withdrawal of notices would include the notice issued to the appellant, who was the petitioner in W.P.No.11006 of 2018.

2. Since the University has already withdrawn the notice issued to the appellant, which was the basis for filing the writ petition in W.P.No.11006 of 2018, nothing survives for adjudication in this intra court appeal.

3. The intra court appeal is dismissed as infructuous. However, we make it clear that the withdrawal of the notices would not stand in the way of the University taking appropriate action in accordance with law. No costs.
