This writ petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to conduct an enquiry for enhancement of compensation in respect of the lands acquired as per Award No.11/2011 dated 05.07.2011.
2. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners owned lands comprised in S.Nos.172/12B, 172/11A1B, 172/11A2B, 172/11B2, 172/9, 174/7B, 172/10 and 172/7 ad-measuring total https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
extent of 3850 sq.mtrs., situated at No.10, Dharanivaragapuram Village, Lakshmi Nagar, Tiruttani-Thiruppathy Road, Tiruttani. While being so, the 2nd respondent acquired the said lands along with other lands for the purpose of widening the National Highways-205. Thereafter, the 2nd respondent passed an award dated 05.07.2011 in Award No.11/2011. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioners filed appeal before the 1st respondent as contemplated under Section 3G(5) of the National Highways Act, 1956 for enhancement of compensation. However, even till today, the 1st respondent did not pass any order on the appeal filed by the petitioners for enhancement of compensation.

Considering the above, the 1st respondent is directed to conduct enquiry on the appeal filed by the petitioners, after issuance of notice to the petitioner and after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
