Petition under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 70/71 to punish the respondents for having committed contempt of Court by disobeying the order dated 11.11.2013 passed in W.P. No. 30414 of 2013. For Petitioner ::

O R D E R

The petitioner has come before this Court contending that the order of this Court dated 11.11.2013 passed in W.P. No. 30414 of 2013 has not been complied with, by

passing appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 14.10.2013 within 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General for the respondents.

Though it is stated that the order passed by this Court has not been complied with, a perusal of the records would reveal that orders have, in fact, been passed on the representation of the petitioner on 29.04.2014. But, it has not been done within the time limit stipulated by this Court.

Once a time limit has been prescribed, it is the bounden duty of the authority concerned to adhere to the same. However, the respondents have taken one more month, in addition to the time limit of 12 weeks stipulated by this Court and it is contended that the order of this Court could not be complied with, in time, due to administrative exigency.

In view of the compliance of the order passed by this Court, the contempt petition is closed. It is open to the petitioner to challenge the said order in accordance

with law. Further, the respondents are directed to pass orders within the time limit prescribed by this Court in future.
