PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent police to take all such measures which are necessary to maintain peace in Tamil Nadu pursuance of the Periyar statue controversy created by irresponsible political leader and take necessary legal action against people, who attack innocent people for their political and religious faith. Petitioner :

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.A.P.Suryaprakasam - the petitioner appearing in person and Mr.P.H.Aravind Pandian, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the respondents. The State of Tamil Nadu through the Home Secretary is suo motu impleaded as a party respondent in this writ petition.

2. The respondents are directed to take all necessary measures to maintain law and order, peace and harmony and prevent untoward incidents and criminal acts pursuant to the recent controversy over the statement of a political leader.
