ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by SENTHILKUMAR RAMAMOORTHY,J.) This writ petition is filed for a writ of mandamus to direct respondents 1 to 4 to consider a representation dated 3.11.2020 in respect of the fifth respondent herein, who is the ViceChancellor of the Anna University.

2. Upon perusal of the affidavit and the documents filed in support thereof, we note that it targets a particular individual, and, therefore, we do not find any element of public interest in this writ petition. We further note that the grounds of challenge are specious and untenable. In addition, a writ of mandamus cannot be issued in aid of a challenge to the right of a person to hold a public office.

For these reasons, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
