This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 17.12.2019 and permit the petitioner to go on Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). 2.

The case of the petitioner is that he was working as a Driver in the respondent transport corporation and during the course of employment, he suffered an injury which prevented him from performing the work. He under went treatment and he also appeared before the Medical Board. A certificate was also given by the Medical Board to the effect that the petitioner's disability is 30%. The respondent corporation did not given the petitioner any alternative employment and the petitioner was directed to continue his service as a Driver. The petitioner attempted to perform his job as a Driver. However, due to the injury, the petitioner is not able to perform his job satisfactorily and therefore, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent to grant him voluntary retirement. petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Moorthy, learned Standing counsel for respondent. 4.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation dated 17.12.2019 and pass appropriate orders strictly in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with copy of earlier representation dated 17.12.2019 and also a copy of this order. 5.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
