Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to allot shops for the petitioner association 41 members at opposite side of Victoria Hall, Near Park Town Railway Station, Chennai - 600 003. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) It is submitted by the writ petitioner that pursuant to the institution of the petition and orders passed by this Court thereon, the persons who had been excluded in the matter of allotment of shop space have now been accommodated. The Grater Chennai Corporation is represented and confirms such position.

2. It is also recorded that since the police have certain objections regarding the location and logistics of the shops, the Corporation has invited the allottees of shops for discussion on alternative sites. However, such aspect of the matter need not be gone into at this stage and it is hoped that the public interest is not compromised in the location of the shops.

3. In view of such developments, nothing remains of the petition. W.P.No.10715 of 2021 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.11358 of 2021 is closed.
