Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 19.01.2019 and consecutively release the life convict prisoner the detenu viz., Poori Kamal, S/o.Amar Singh (late), life convict No.2806 prematurely as per the G.O.(Ms).No.64, dated 01.02.2018, the detenue, detained at Central Prison, Coimbatore. [Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] It is the case of the petitioner that, her son viz. Poori Kamal, a life convict No.2806, will be entitled to premature https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

release, in terms of G.O.(Ms).No.64, dated 01.02.2018, and that a representation dated 19.01.2019, has been submitted to the authorities for the said relief.

2. On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the representation given on behalf of Puri Kamal is under active consideration by the Government and orders will be passed, if eight weeks time is granted.

3. Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), we direct the respondents to dispose of the representation dated 19.01.2019, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law and on merits.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
