Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the accused was found guilty and convicted for the offence under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act by the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, Fast Track Court-III, Saidapet, Chennai and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment of six months under Section 255(2) of Cr.P.C. The accused was ordered to pay cheque amount as

compensation to the complainant under Section 357(3) of Cr.P.C in default to undergo simple imprisonment of one month.

2. In view of the above, the prayer made in this petition has rendered infructuous. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as infructuous.
