[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent herein to produce the daughter of the petitioner viz., Sheha, 19 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Sneha, aged about 19 years, went missing from 29.12.2020 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by Rajeswari, sister of the petitioner herein, a case in Muthupettai Police Station Crime No.2724 of 2020 has been registered under Section 366-A IPC against Kamesh, with whom Sneha is said to have eloped as she was in love with him.

In view of the above, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Muthupettai Sub-Division, Tiruvarur District, to monitor the investigation in Muthupettai Police Station Crime No.2724 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Thiruthuraipoondi, under intimation to the petitioner.
