Questioning the Selection List of Lab Assistant in Ariyalur District published on 14.4.2017 by the 2nd respondent and to quash the same with a consequential direction to the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner for appointment to the post of Lab Assistant in Ariyalur District based on the Land Priority Category, the present Writ Petition has been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 3 and 4 and Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the view that if the petitioner has come to this Court immediately after the publication of the selection list of Lab Assistants in Ariyalur Distruct on 14.4.2017 by the 2nd respondent, this Court could have entertained the writ petition. But, after a lapse of nearly one year from the date of publication of the selection list of Lab Assistant in Ariyalur, the petitioner has approached this Court and due to the passage of time, certainly, there will not be any vacancy for the post of Lab Assistant in Ariyalur District. Therefore, the Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of laches.
