Prayer: This writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ particularly in the nature of a writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to pass a considered order on the application given by the petitioner on 03.04.2017 by way of direction and consequential relief by way of direction directing the first respondent to change the old meter and fix a new meter for bearing Ground Floor at No.13, Railway Station Road, Alandure, Chennai - 600 016.

ORDER

The petitioner who is a practicing lawyer has come forward to file this writ petition seeking a direction to the first respondent.

2.Learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that any dispute with respect to assessment of billing, the consumer has to approach the appellate authority and thereafter, the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the disputed amount would be paid and on such payment, service connection may be restored and the petitioner would also approach the appellate forum without prejudice to the said complaints.

4.Considering the submissions made, a direction is issued to the first respondent to restore the service connection which has been disconnected subject to the condition that the petitioner pays the disputed amount. As and when the amount is paid, the service connection will have to be restored within a period of two weeks thereafter. This payment is made without prejudice to the contention of the petitioner to raise a dispute before the appellate authority.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
