ORDER
Heard Mr.Gnanasekar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.Usha, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.
2. The issue pertains to two questions that have been posed by the petitioner. Initially, the petitioner had posed several questions but when the appeal was taken up for disposal, he confined himself only to questions 6 & 12. Insofar as Information No.6 is concerned, the Central Information Commission has already directed the issuance of the said information.
3. Insofar as the Information No.12 i.e. " the total number of vacancies for the post of Stenographer Grade II and Grade III, all notifications, category
wise vacancies ( ex.ST, SC, MBC, OBC) recruited vacancies in general and category wise recruited through direct recruitment for post of stenographer grade-II and Grade III list including name and category, recruited by DO and AR Puducherry from 2000 to 2010" is concerned, the Central Information Commission had rejected the same, stating that the CPIO is not in a position to provide the same. The CPIO is the second respondent herein.
4. The records sought by the petitioner must be available with the second respondent. They relate to the number of vacancies and notifications issued by the Government of Puducherry for the purpose of filling up posts through Direct Recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade II and Grade III. Unless and until such information is available, the State of Puducherry would not be in a position to issue notifications for vacancy to fill up the vacancies.
5. When this aspect was pointed out Ms.Usha, she states that the information would be provided within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Her submission is recorded. This writ petition is ordered. The second respondent shall provide the information extracted above within a period of two weeks. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
6. In case, the second respondent fails to issue the information within a period of two weeks, Mr.Gnanasekaran is at liberty to make a mention. 03-02-2026 Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No kkd Note : Order copy shall be uploaded today itself.
