The petitioner submitted an application before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Mettur Taluk, requesting to issue a Community Certificate indicating that his children belongs to "Kurumans Community", which is notified as Scheduled Tribe Community. Since follow up action was not taken by the Revenue Divisional Officer, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader on behalf of the respondent.

3. The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner for Community Certificate as expeditiously as possible, and in any case, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. We make it clear that this direction is issued taking into account the limited prayer made in the writ petition and it should not be construed to be a positive direction to issue Community Certificate as prayed for by the petitioner. In short, the issue should be decided purely on merits and as per law.

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
