ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to return the petitioner's Original Documents held by the 4th respondent college without insisting any fee based on the representation dated 9.12.2025 within a reasonable time.

2.The case of the petitioner is that she joined the 4th respondent college through management quota and applied for a scholarship. She paid Rs.5,22,400/-, which was credited from the Government from time to time during the course of her study. On 11.01.2024, due to her family situation and financial difficulties, she decided to discontinue her studies during the second year and submitted a representation on 26.06.2024 requesting the release of her original documents. However, the 4th respondent college management demanded a sum of Rs.2,63,500/- to release the original documents. Subsequently, the petitioner was compelled to pay Rs.1,58,100/- which was credited to her account towards the scholarship for her three years of study. Further, the college demanded an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- to release the original documents.

The petitioner has pursued the course solely through the scholarship, as her parents were financially incapable of supporting her studies. She is therefore not liable to pay any fee to the 4th respondent college for a course that she did not pursue. On 10.07.2024, the petitioner joined B.Sc (Food Services Management and Dietetics) program at Avinashilingam Institution, Coimbatore. The present college requires her to submit the original documents to continue her studies. The petitioner made a representation dated 09.12.2025 to the respondents, requesting their intervention to recover the original documents from the 4th respondent college. Till date, the respondents have not provided any reply.

the petitioner's ability to continue and complete the course of study. Hence the present writ petition has been filed.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

4.The learned counsel for the 4th respondent would submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

5.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.12.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
