ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to file final report in Crime No.130 of 2015 and proceed further in manner known to law.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Gandhi and others, he has lodged a complaint before the Deputy Commissioner of Police, City Crime Branch-II, Chennai, who in turn, forwarded the same to the respondent. On receipt of the same, the respondent police registered a case in Crime No.130 of 2015 on 24.10.2015 for the offences punishable under Sections 419, 420, 465, 468, 471 r/w 120(B) IPC. However, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the fact that the case is pending from 2015, this Court directs the respondent to complete the investigation and file final report in Crime No.130 of 2015 pending on his file, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The criminal original petition is ordered accordingly.
