Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioners dated 05.10.2019.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioners on 05.10.2019 and to pass appropriate orders within a period fixed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed as part time Village Assistants in the year 1995. Thereafter,

they were made as Village Assistants in the year 2002 and they have been discharging their functions in the said post. The grievance of the petitioner is that persons who have been regularly appointed to the post of Village Assistant are getting a higher pay than the petitioners who were appointed on a temporary basis. The petitioners wanted respondents to give equal pay to the petitioners,that is paid to the other regularly appointed Village Assistants.

3. Heard Mr.S.Vijayakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.P.S.Siva shanmuga sundaram, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the representation made by the petitioners is under consideration of the first respondent and even before any orders could be passed, the petitioners have rushed to this Court.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the representation is under active consideration.

6. Taking into consideration, the facts and circumstances of the case and the specific stand taken by the first respondent, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioners on 05.10.2019 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioners are directed to make a fresh representation to the first respondent along with the copy of the representation dated 05.10.2019 and a copy of this order.

7. This writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
