Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to conduct the Auction for fish growing in the Koodalvadi Eri, Thiruvalangadu Village, Tiruttani Taluk, Tiruvallur District by strictly following the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Act and further direct the respondents 5,7, 8 and 9 to afford necessary protection for a smooth and early conduct of the Auction process.

O R D E R

The learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3 and 5 and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing on behalf of the respondents 7 to 9, would submit that the tender date was fixed and on account of certain law and order issues, it was cancelled by the Authorities. However, the respondents would submit that the tender will be conducted as expeditiously as possible.

2. It is needless to state that the tender is to be conducted in a transparent manner and without leasing the fishing rights properly, no persons should be allowed to do fishing activities in that lake.

3. With the above observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
