The present Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the Second Respondent to cancel the fraudulent Document No.2860 of 2019 created by the Fourth Respondent, wrongly registered by the First Respondent.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the First to Third Respondents.

3.The learned counsel for the Respondents No. 1 to 3 submits that the Second Respondent does not have power to cancel a fraudulent document. Only the Third Respondent has powers to initiate appropriate proceedings under Section 83 of the Registration Act, 1908.

4.The present Writ Petition is therefore disposed with a direction to the Third Respondent to initiate appropriate proceedings under Section 83 of the Registration Act, 1908, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No cost.
