Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing respondents 4 and 7 to grant permission and protection to conduct "Eruthu Vidum Vizha" (Jallikattu festival) on 27.1.2021 or any other date from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Thekkupattu Village in Natrampalli Taluk of Thirupatthrur District by considering petitioner's representation dated 13.1.2021.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) There is no element of public interest in the matter as a solitary person seeking to espouse the cause of many has complained of the police authorities denying permission. It is submitted on behalf of the respondent authorities that the majority of the local residents do not wish that the permission be granted.
2. In the event there is any representation made by the petitioner which is pending, the same should be dealt with by a speaking order within three weeks from date. If the writ petitioner is dissatisfied with the response, the writ petitioner will be entitled to institute appropriate proceedings, not by way of public interest.
W.P.No.1754 of 2021 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
