ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner, who is seeking for revision of seniority in the cadre of Sub Inspector of Survey notionally for the purpose of further promotion to the post of Deputy Inspector of Survey notionally and for granting all consequential benefits.

2. It is seen from the records that the petitioner attained superannuation on 30.04.2015 in his post as Deputy Inspector of Survey. Thereafter, only in the year 2019, a representation is given by the petitioner seeking for notional promotion to the post of Sub Inspector of Survey and Deputy Inspector of Survey and for granting all attendant benefits.

3. In the considered view of this Court, there is absolutely no explanation as to why the petitioner had waited for nearly five years to make his representation. It is almost five years since the petitioner retired. Therefore, no useful purpose will be served by directing the respondents to undergo the effort of considering the notional promotion of the petitioner, more particularly, since the petitioner was not vigilant enough to approach this Court on time. This Court does not find any merits in this case and accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
