O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner seeks an enquiry into the contract works relating to the Under Ground Sewerage System of Erode Municipal Corporation. The petitioner does not claim any personal knowledge nor has he made any investigation, but the petition is entirely based on a newspaper report.

2. We have opined on a number of occasions that such kind of petitions styled as public interest litigations based on newspaper reports alone are not liable to be entertained.

3. The writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2014 is also dismissed.
