Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1 to 4 respondents herein to appoint the petitioner as Village Assistant in most Back Ward caste Quota under the ground of inters caste and physically challenged in Rettanai Revenue Village East situated a Tindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District on the basis of the Petitioner's representation dated 10.01.2023. This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 10.01.2023, wherein, the petitioner has sought for appointment to the post of Village Assistant under the most backward quota. 2.The case of the petitioner is that notification was issued by the Tahsildar, Tindivanam on 10.10.2022, to fill up 19 vacancies to the post of Village Assistants in Tindivanam Taluk. The petitioner also applied for the said post. According to the petitioner, she attended the interview on 03.01.2023 and
thereafter, the petitioner was not informed about the further progress. According to the petitioner, she must be considered for selection under the most backward quota and since the petitioner was not informed about her selection, a representation was made on 10.01.2023 in this regard. Since the same did not evoke any response from the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
3.When the matter came up for hearing on 20.01.2023, this Court directed the learned Additional Government Pleader to take instructions with regard to the status of the selection. The matter was taken up for hearing today and it was informed to this Court that the entire process of selection has been completed and that the petitioner was not found to fulfill the educational qualification and hence, she was not selected. The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that a communication will be issued to the petitioner in this regard based on the representation made by her on 10.01.2023.
4.In view of the above submission, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 4th respondent to send the communication to the petitioner based on the representation made by the petitioner on 10.01.2023, within a period of
two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the petitioner is aggrieved by her non-selection, it is left open to the petitioner to workout her remedy in the manner known to law, if so advised. 5.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
