[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the second respondent to produce the body of the petitioner's mother Pappu, W/o.Nalliappan, aged about 75 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that her mother Pappu, aged about 75 years, went missing from 10.11.2020 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.

Today, Mr.R.Thilagavathy (Mobile No.9498110680), SubInspector of Police, Namagiripettai Police Station, Namakkal District, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Namagiripettai Police Station Crime No.945 of 2020 for 'woman missing' was registered on 15.11.2020 and the investigation is in progress.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rasipuram, to monitor the investigation in Namagiripettai Police Station Crime No.945 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate, Rasipuram, under intimation to the petitioner. However, the police shall conduct a thorough investigation in order to find out if the detenue, being the old lady, was murdered by anyone for the properties she owns.
