ORDER
The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to make certificate to issue identity cards and allot vendors zone contemplated under Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. Heard Mr.P.Vijendran, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.T.C.Gopalakrishnan, learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent and Mr.V.Shanmuga Sundar, learned Special Government Pleader for the second respondent and perused the materials available on record.
3. The learned counsel for the first respondent submitted that the officials of the first respondent has already conducted survey of all street vendors and the process of issuing identity cards is going on and the same will be completed within a period of six months.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader for the second respondent submitted that the second respondent has been unnecessarily impleaded in this case and he has issued a direction to the officials of the second respondent to give protection wherever it was required.
5. In the light of the above submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and also considering the nature of prayer sought for in the writ petition, this Court, directs the first respondent to issue identity cards to the eligible members of the petitioner's association, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
