ORDER

(DELIVERED BY P.N.PRAKASH, J.) This petition is filed for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus directing the respondent to secure the detenue Meenakshi, produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter, Meenakshi, went missing in connection 252/2015 has been registered on by the respondent police on 13.4.15 for 'Girl Missing'. Inspite of registration of the complaint, since no effective steps have been taken by the respondent police, the present petition has been filed.

3. Today, when the matter is called, Mr.Devaraj, learned counsel, produced the detenue before this Court. On questioning by the Court, the detenue stated that she was born on 26.10.1987 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and that she has attained majority and to substantiate the same, the birth certificate has been produced. The detenue further stated that she got married to Mohan Babu, on 29.10.2015 at Intercaste Marriage & Women Education Awareness Society, No.17, Mariamman Koil Street, Gundu Uppalavadi, Cuddalore Taluk & District and the marriage has been registered with the Registrar of Marriages at Cuddalore as Sl. No.1892/2015. An affidavit to the above effect has also been filed by the detenue.

4. The detenue further informed the Court that she is willing to go with her husband, Mohan Babu and that she is not willing to go with her father, the petitioner herein.

5. As the detenue is a major and has got married to the said Mohan Babu and states her willingness to go along with her husband, this Court sets her at liberty to enable her to chalk out her own life. With the above observation, this habeas corpus petition is closed.
