ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to register the petitioner's complaint dated 07.01.2016 and investigate the same in accordance with law.

2. In the petition, it has been stated that the petitioner is working as a Manager in the Tasmac shop bearing no.4136 at Door No.145, Bharatha Madha Street, East Tambaram, Chennai. One P.Poomalai is the license holder of the Tasmac bar. The owner of the shop Mr. G.Justin has let out the shop for Tasmac on a monthly rent of Rs.10,000/-. But, after tenancy, the said Justin and his family members have collected daily rent of Rs.8,000/- and it was increased from time to time. On 06.01.2016, the said Justin and 6 other rowdy elements came to the bar and demanded the enhanced rent of Rs.15,000/- per day. Since the petitioner expressed his inability, they ransacked the bar and damaged all the bottles and attacked the customers in a high handed manner and also threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. Hence, the petitioner has lodged a complaint on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

07.01.2016. But, till date, no action has been taken on the said complaint. Hence, the present criminal original petition has been filed.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that that on receipt of the complaint of the petitioner, C.S.R.No.23/ 2016 has been assigned and the same is pending for enquiry.

5. In view of the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the respondent to conduct enquiry on the complaint of the petitioner dated 08.01.2016 in CSR.No.23/2016 and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
