Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus, to call for the records in connection with the order of detention passed by the second respondent dated 21.2.2014 in Memo No.269/BDFGISSV/2014 against the petitioner Manikandan @ Mani, male, aged 23 years S/o.Deivaraj, who is confined at Central Prison, Puzhal-II, Chennai and set aside the same and direct the respondents to produce the detenu before this court and set him at liberty. From the records made available herein, it is now seen that the detention order has been passed on 21.2.2014, thereby detaining the detenu in question for a period of one year from the date of the said order. Since one year period had expired, this Habeas Corpus Petition has become infructuous.
