ORDER

(Order of the Court was delivered by M.S.RAMESH, J.) When the petitioner's wife, namely Deepa, aged about 42 years, had gone missing, he had given a complaint before the second respondent Police and an FIR came to be registered on 18.11.2023 in Crime No.232 of 2023. Since no effective steps were taken by the second respondent to trace the petitioner's wife, the petitioner has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the dead body of the petitioner's wife has been traced by the respondent/Police and the case originally registered as 'woman missing' in Crime No.232 of 2023 has now been altered to under Section 302 of IPC. As such, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition has become infructuous.

3. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, the respondent/Police shall endeavor to complete the investigation, as expeditiously as possible, in Crime No.232/2023.
